Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS) has announced it will revoke the Upholstered and Stuffed Articles Regulation that protects Ontario consumers from unclean and unsafe stuffing in consumer goods such as upholstered furniture, stuffed toys, bedding, mattresses, and winter coats.

The Consumers Council of Canada has advocated recently for firm action on unsolicited, door-to-door sales, new protection for users of alternative financial services such as payday loans and definition of qualifications, with licensing, for home inspectors.
